OUTDOOR FACILITIES

The indoor/outdoor enclosure is one of our new 2004 additions to the cattery... enabling the cats to enjoy the sun during the day, and take shelter inside at night. 

 Each run is equipped with hammocks, shelves and climbing apparatus.  The inside is temperature controlled... so it can be heated or cooled.

Also added in 2004... a new outdoor quarantine facility. 

The door on the outside enters into a free space between two separate enclosures, forming a security entrance.

Our new outdoor cat houses are made of Western Red Cedar, and have 3-inches of insulation throughout.  Not only are they insulated to keep the cats cool in summer months, but they are also heated for our cool Tennessee winters.

Note how the houses are built up off the ground for optimal protection against the elements, and the natural wood legs that hold the houses also serve as scratching posts.  The cats love to sun themselves on the front deck of the house as well.
